We moved hotels today because we’re still waiting for immigration to grant me a change of residency. I had to check out of my Airbnb at 10am and then took a taxi to the new hotel. After we dropped off our bags, we headed back out to get something to eat since check in was at 3pm. After eating we still had plenty of time before check in so we took a little walk. We didn’t go far though because there was a Karaokekan (a popular karaoke chain) that was right behind the hotel and we popped in there to wait for check in. They ended up having a kids room which surprised me because I never seen one at a Karaokekan before! The room was so so nice, Momei played with toys while I sang mostly Disney songs lol. When it was finally time to check into the hotel we went back. Thankfully this particular hotel chain has a public bath so Moemi and I went inside and there was no one else around so we were able to relax fully. It was so nice! I hope we can go every night while we’re here. I also ended up losing Moemi’s American passport :( . But honestly, I think I left it at the Minato-ku ward office. Speaking of which, I had to go to immigration to cancel Moemi’s Tourist visa since she’s now my Japanese citizen but they said they needed her Koseki (family registry) so that’s when we went back to Minato ward office the next day to pick up a copy but then they told me they needed my passport. At the time I only had a copy of my passport with a stamp from my law firm saying that my original copy is being used by immigration but the staff at the ward office said the needed my original. I actually received a copy of the Koseki from the ward office a few weeks prior with the same copy of my passport but they told me they needed the original this time. Granted! It was my law firm that had my passport and I completely forgot at the time but I still would’ve needed to leave the ward office with my restless toddler, go to the the law firm and ask for the passport back, then go back to the ward office and I was already tired from running around the prior day. So in my head at the moment I thought immigration still had my passport but I would’ve needed to request it back so that the ward office could use it to issue Moemi a Koseki so I can give it to Immigration. I feel exhausted explaining everything and I’m leaving so much out of the story. (;ω;) There were about 4 people surrounding me, telling me I need my original passport although the copy had an official stamp saying immigration had it. I just nodded my head and said I understood but feeling extremely overwhelmed and tired, I started crying in front of all 4 people. I was soooo embarrassed. I haven’t cried in so long but I was so exhausted and my body chose to do it in front of these staff members and all the rest of the people there. (・_・; At least it wasn’t ugly crying. Just quietly a few tear fell out. So the 4 staff members probably feeling bad for me or extremely awkward lol they said wait one moment please and they went off somewhere. I had to quietly kneel down next to Moemi’s stroller to pretend like I was picking something up when really I just grabbed my handkerchief and patted my eyes and nose. I’m truly so embarrassed looking back on it. Anyway a few more staff members came back and I think they started quizzing me about Moemi (where is was born, her Japanese and American name, etc). After they were finished, they asked me how many copies I needed of the Koseki!!! I was so so thankful! I told them I wanted 4 copies and they gave them to me after I paid 1,800 yen! But I’m pretty sure we left Moemi’s American passport at the ward office when we left. I will call them hopefully with my help of my friend on Monday. While in Minato-Ku I was also able to check out an apartment that was available on the foreigner real estate website that I’ve been frequenting. The place was really nice but it definitely wasn’t my dream apartment. My dream apartment is a tower mansion within my price range but the only issue is the fact that my life will be changing very drastically, very soon and it may not be the best idea to commit to renting such an expensive apartment when I could possibly be moving shortly after. I still can’t share the news yet though! ˚✧₊⁎❝᷀ົཽ≀ˍ̮ ❝᷀ົཽ⁎⁺˳✧༚ So I figured something simple but nice would be the best option for now! I just need to wait for the visa. ( ;∀;) |
