Moemi and I spent the last 2 days indoors because I wanted to make sure she was 100% better after developing a cold. She has no more symptoms, thank God, so we'll be going out again tomorrow! Yesterday we finished watching the 1st and 2nd season of Bridgerton on Netflix and I really enjoyed it. I can definitely see what all the hype was about. I think the aspect that I liked the most about the show was how they viewed courtship during that time. I feel many women today complain about how men put forth the bare minimum when courting, if you can even call it that. I think the interesting part is what made society change so much. Both men and women blame each other. Men say women are becoming more independent and want equality while women are saying men have access to many different women thanks to social media so they don't feel the need to put in effort for women anymore. It's like the egg before the chicken argument. I can see both sides, although for me, because I grew up in nuclear family where my dad was extremely aggressive when it came to courting my mother I have a very white and black impression on how men should be toward women. It was modeled for me all throughout my life by my father who was always present, always generous and always a man who took care of his family. My mother was also an amazing support system for my father and it was very clear what their roles were. Those roles never changed for the 30+ years they've been married and both my mother and father are extremely in love, successful and happy! I don't mean this to brag at all, I simply wanted to highlight why I may act the way I do or think the way I think. It's also a double edge sword, because my dad is so amazing, he set the bar extremely high for my dating standards.
