Exploring the Neighborhood~~Jan 18, 2024

Today Moemi and I explored the area a bit. Our tablet hasn't come in the mail yet but I figured a little walk around the neighborhood wouldn't get us lost.. And boy was I wrong!

No just kidding.

I actually really like this area! It's honestly such a nice area and even though it's in Shinjuku, it's so quiet at night. Like at 8pm there were only a handful of people outside and the stores were mostly closed. It felt so peaceful. Moemi and I walked to a family restaurant (if you couldn't tell already I love family restaurants in Japan) and we had some pasta, escargot, bread and drinks from the drink bar. 

Obviously there were a bunch of students in there since we live next to the Waseda campus but they weren't rowdy at all. It was pretty relaxing actually. 

After we left we had our first shrine visit of the year, our little Hatsumode at a beuatiful shrine nearby. 

Then we picked up some ground beef, natto, pistachio cheese and rice crackers with black beans from lawsons 100 store and continued walking around for a bit. We also picked up royal milk tea/ chocolate flavored ice cream from Family Mart (?) or was it 7 eleven? I honestly don't remember but the ice cream was good!
