  11:43 PM | 0 Cloud(s) Book Binding~~~April 3, 2023I just bound my very first book today! ^ ^ I really wanted to make a self improvement journal and I thought instead of buying one, I would probably take better care of one that I personally made! 
So, I stumbled upon a few YouTube videos about bookbinding. I had to cross reference multiple YT channels to find the stitch I wanted to use and other small details. I also grabbed a bunch of my own books and used them as a guide to figure out how they were put together. It was like being a detective, unraveling the secrets of book construction. I was just missing a magnifying glass.🔍 ^ ^       So after I was finished constructioning the skeleton of the book, I got started on the cover.   The dress I'm wearing above was a bit too revealing for my liking, but the fabric was so beautiful- like a Victorian-style floral print.  The last time I found fabric like this, I made curtains for my room. Anyway, I didn't want to let it go to waste, so I decided to use it as the cover for my book.       Just a word of advice. Try to use fabric that is more sturdy. If it's flimsy there are tricks to make it more sturdy, that include using tissue paper and few other ways. There are many beautiful and kind youtubers that can show you how.   Okay, so my first attempt at bookbinding wasn't perfect, I'm sure I will get better with practice. Plus, making the journal was free since I was able to find all the materials already in the house.  I think It came out pretty okay! Now, this book has become my little haven for my affirmations, my weekly and monthly goals, and random ideas I like to jot down.
