Chinese Snow Fungus Beauty~~~ Nov 21, 2020

I made some skin serum the other day. I got the idea from a super old video about 10 years ago. Back then I was just a broke kid but I was still very much interested in DIY beauty. Now that I have time and even more motivation (that grew with age), I decided to try out the serum!

I actually have a very extensive skin care regime and I already have a really good serum but I really wanted to try something natural so I decided to go ahead and try this snow fungus all-natural skin serum recipe!

So what you'll need is:

1 piece of snow fungus (you can buy it at your local asian market)

1000 c.c of water

An empty cosmetic container

Soak the snow fungus with warm water with the yellow base facing up-so that the impurities can come off more easily. Squeeze the white fungus a few times and change the water if needed. Wash it until the water is clean.

Trim the pedals with the pair of scissors and keep the hard yellow base for future use. Put the snow fungus petals in a pot with hot water, bring to a boil and simmer on low heat for 1 hour) Keep an eye on the pot and stir often.

The yellow base of the snow fungus that we put aside before can be used a facial scrub! It works well because it's soft so you'll never end up over exfoliating!

Back to the pot of petals..

After simmering for an hour you will have a pot of thick liquid.

Use a shifter and transfer the juice to a bowl and let it cool down a bit.

That juice is the serum!

No preservatives, no fragrance, no chemicals. So cheap yet effective!

Because there's no preservatives added, you should finish the serum in one week and store it in the fridge after each use.

You can make a DIY mask with the serum.
Just get blank paper mask and soak the mask in the serum. You can leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes.

Press the mask gently on your face and let the bubbles out to make sure all your pores enjoy the serum.

Use it or eat it!

You can also make dessert soup with leftover fungus soup. After it's been boiling for 60 minutes just add some brown sugar, honey and maybe some dates and walnuts to your fungus soup and enjoy a yummy dessert!

I hope you can try it too!
