Leaving for Korea + Reminiscing......June 6, 2017

Picture I took on the bridge between Koto ku and Urayasu. Overlooking the Arakawa river.

So I'm going to Korea June 15th for 3 months while I prepare to change my visa!

Even though I plan on coming back to Japan in September, I feel like I miss it already. I know how strange that sounds.

Last year in Japan, 2016 was so amazing! I really had an excellent time. One thing that really stuck out to me was living near Kameido in East Tokyo. I lived in a new stylish apartment and I lived right in the middle of all the action.

The mall was behind my apartment, I had two 7 Eleven's within a few yards of my apartment, on either side. Don Quihote( kinda like the Walmart of Japan but better) was a 15 minute walk down the street. The Arakawa river was also within close proximity.

I think one of the best things about living there however, was how at 1 am I would go outside and ride my bike around town. Sometimes I would ride my bicycle to the Tokyo Sky tree ( the tallest tower in the world), Akihabara (otaku town), Asakusa, or I would ride to Edogawa to get a view of the sea. And since I would ride in the middle of the night, almost no one was outside so it felt like a giant play ground.

Yes I had my problems with stalkers or perverts here in Japan but I've never been in any life threatening situations when I lived here. Actually I found that at nighttime it's easier to explore and ride. Normally the area is almost impossible to ride without the fear of running into someone or getting hit by a car during the day. Those were some of the best times I had before I moved.

Since I moved from Koto Ku, I've been living in Kawasaki. It was my choice and I have no one to blame but myself but the only good thing about my apartment here in Kawasaki is the amazing view from the balcony and how big the room is. Everything else is...just ...blah. In Koto Ku however, I would've never been able to fit a queen sized Ikea bed in that apartment. But a part of me was okay with that. Living in a small apartment and just enjoying a simple life.

Regardless, I know while I'm in Korea, I'm going to be itching to come back to Japan! Korea also has it's charms but Japan feels like home to me now.

I have some big news to share very soon! It may be before or after I leave for Korea but It's huge news! Good news!! I'm very thankful but also a bit nervous to share it. But I will share it nonetheless!

Have a good day everyone!!
