Yay! I finally moved into my apartment in Koto-ku!!
Honestly..you have no idea how much work it took for me to get this apartment. I don't necessarily  mean financially, I also mean tasks and errands. Every single realtor company had me jumping through hoops! It was exhausting and time consuming.





It's absolutely ridiculous how difficult it is for foreign students to rent an apartment in Tokyo. Especially if that said student actually cares about where they want to live.
Maybe it's just me, but if I'm shelling out 350,000 yen or more on a place...you bet your booty I want a halfway decent place. I think I have the right to be a little picky...it's only fair. I don't care if people are spending more than me, It's still a lot of money!! -__-


At first I came here thinking I was able to be picky and choosy..I was dead wrong. But after a month of finding nothing and losing hope and confidence-  my brother left me with uplifting words. He told me to just pray about it. He told me to ask God what kind of apartment he would want for me. "Let go and let God!" Well...I did...and boy am I glad I did!!

Not only did I find a place in the original location that I wanted, but it's also a new building that was built in 2012...that was something I didn't even ask for! Plus the building has security and it's just a 1 minute walk from a shopping mall with a huge super market inside. Again, something I didn't even ask for!!
 I got above and beyond everything I wanted in an apartment because I finally stopped worrying and prayed about it instead. I also had faith that God would point me to the perfect place!! I'm so incredibly happy here! Oh and did I mention I live just a 30 minute walk from the ocean?? & a 1 hour 30 minute scenic bike ride from Tokyo Disney?


If you really know me...you know I LOVE water and everything Disney!!



Honestly I'm so happy here but there is still much more work needed to be done. I need to go to Nakano-ku ward office and un-register my old address, then I need to go to Koto-ku ward office and register my new address. I need to work maybe 4 days a week to pay my parents back for helping me pay the initial cost of the apartment. Then I need to buy a real bed, a laundry machine, dresser, bookshelf and all the other furniture on my list. Then I need to call my bank and get them to resend my security code card to my new address. I need to call DHL and tell them to forward my package to my new address. There are many more things....but for now these come first!!


I'll post pictures and a video of the room later. I'm so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. One of my friends reached out to me when I needed help. I literally have only 65 dollars to my name until I start working again.( I may need to find a second job, I hate being poor.) But he bought me all the basic necessities that I needed. A futon mattress to sleep on until I can afford a real bed, a light for my room (a really nice light might I add!!), curtains, shampoo, rinse, body wash, towel, hangers, pillow, pillow case, dinner, breakfast, etc. Such kindness!! ^__^

 I have tons of work to do, but I'm going to take a walk in the morning and explore the area a bit more. I explored most of it via google maps but I really want to see everything for myself!
