Okay so today I just got done paying my visa selection fee! I tried paying it over the weekend but when I went to the bank to make the transfer, my bank teller kept getting an error message. :/
He told me to come back Monday so we could try again. So today I got dressed in my workout clothes and I walked to the bank to try the process over again(and can we just take a moment to think about just how warm it's been outside..? 70 degrees in December??). This time it finally worked!!
Apparently next to the Japanese bank's "Co. LTD." you aren't supposed to add the periods ("."). Such a small issue but I don't even care because I'm one step closer to moving back to Japan!
The only issue now is the tuition money.
Just like last year I stressed on how I was going to get the tuition money. I started putting up positive affirmations on my wall, saying various things like; "You can do it!", "Good things are going to happen", "wake up and chase your dreams". It may sound lame but reading those everyday and also doing my daily prayers really helped push me to get out and work hard for the money I needed for school.
Granted, last year, (because I wasn't supposed to have my visa for the first 3 months but ended up dropping out before I received my visa) I didn't have to pay nearly as much as I have to pay this year...BUT here is the upside..... this year, because I'll be on a college student visa, I'll be allowed to work in Japan. I just have a set amount of hours I'm allowed to work but at least I can work! That's really a plus for me! You run out of money quickly in Tokyo without a source of income.
It seems like the months have been breezing by. Normally I would be happy about that but it just means I won't have much time to get the money I need for tuition so I really need to buckle down and focus.
Thankfully I have two friends in Japan that are offering to let me stay with them until I can make enough money to move out on my own.
I really don't want to rely on them. Taking favors like that from friends is the quickest way to lose them (at least in my experience). But it's just nice to know I have a backup plan. That way I can focus on the plane ticket, tuition, food, textbook fees and train fare.
Update: I decided to get a place of my own. I found a great site that doesn't make you pay key money or have a guarantor, plus the prices aren't too bad! Especially with the conversion rate!
頑張ります!!!!!!
Update: Next time I'll talk about realistic financial management while living in Tokyo. I'll also blog an updated version my bucket list...ugh I dislike that term "bucket list" so I'll change it to "dream list". I would change it to "goal list" but "dream" sounds more whimsical! So I'll share some items off my Dream List.
