Long ago, a man was walking along a mountain path on the way to see his fiance, when an old man appeared before him. The old man said, "being a man of the Meikai (world of the dead), I can see the red thread that connects one person to another." The old man told him, " you are not tied to the one you are going to meet". "The one you are tied to by a red thread is that child." He then pointed his finger to a baby carried by a monk who happened to pass by. The man, who got angry, killed the baby's mother & her attendant. However the man & his fiance weren't tied together. & then more then 10 years later, the man had a destined meeting. His partner had been just a baby before. But the once-babbling baby soon grew into a beautiful woman. Unaware of what had happened in the past, the two of them came to know of their past & the truth was painful. & so they chose to part. If we are connected to each other by a red thread, then we will meet again. So they believed...






This story makes one wonder how much they loved each other to choose to separate like that. I believe everyone is connected to one person. But I think it's also destiny to pass that person by. You just need to trust in yourself that the path your taking will lead you to that person.
